- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter into greased cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool completely.
- For the chantilly cream, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gradually add powdered sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.
- Once cakes are cooled, layer them with chantilly cream and mixed berries.
- Top with additional berries and serve chilled.
