A delicious and easy recipe for slow-cooked birria beef tacos that are full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 corn tortillas
  • 1 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the salt, pepper, cumin, chili powder, and garlic.
  2. Rub the spice mixture over the beef chuck roast.
  3. Place the roast in the slow cooker, and add the chopped onion and beef broth.
  4. Add the bay leaves, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the meat with two forks.
  6. Serve the shredded beef in corn tortillas with cilantro and lime.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sear the beef in a pan before adding it to the slow cooker.
