Breakfast Protein Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the chopped turkey bacon and cheese.
  5. Add milk gradually until a dough forms.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll to about 1 inch thick.
  7. Cut into preferred biscuit shapes and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free flour.
