French Onion Ground Beef and Rice Casserole

A delicious casserole combining ground beef, rice, and the savory flavors of French onion and turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rice
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then crumble it and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, brown the ground beef and drain excess fat.
  4. Add diced onion and garlic powder to the beef, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  5. Stir in the rice, French onion soup, and half of the cheese.
  6. Mix in the crumbled turkey bacon and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can top with green onions before serving.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated for a quick meal.
