  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
