Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert known for its rich flavors and creamy texture, perfect for indulging your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick.
  2. Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger into the mixture briefly, then layer them in a baking dish.
  5. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, skip the coffee liqueur.
  • Try adding a sprinkle of grated chocolate on top for extra flavor.
