Wild Rice Pilaf

A delicious and easy recipe for Wild Rice Pilaf with a unique turkey bacon twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wild rice
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add olive oil, onion, celery, and carrots; sauté until softened.
  3. Add wild rice and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and add thyme, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 45 minutes or until rice is tender.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork, and crumble cooked turkey bacon on top before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with fresh herbs for added flavor.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated.
